Her secret is layering multiple of her picks for intensifying color and staying power, and keeping things matte.

Here are Rathna’s favorites, she prefers cool reds with bluish undertones but these colors work on most skin tones:

1. HOURGLASS Femme Rouge Velvet Creme Lipstick in Icon – A deep, beautiful red in a great silk formulation; acts more as a stain with lots of staying power. Often great as a base and layered with a lipstick.

2. MAC in Ruby Woo – A beautiful shade of orangey red, that’s perfect against Rathna medium skin tone; very matte and long-wearing. This is one color that literally works on everyone.

3. BITE BEAUTY in VIB Rouge – A true, bright red that maintains a balance between a matte and moist finish. For those that need more moisturizing.

4. NARS Cruella Velvet Matte Lip Pencil – A jumbo crayon with a creamy, matte formula in a deep, Scarlet red. Super easy for application on the go or re-touching during travel. Great layering option.
