Beautifully complicated Boston like you've never seen it before
Beautifully complicated Boston like you've never seen it before
When you think about Boston’s aesthetic, what comes to mind? The
red-brick row-homes and narrow cobblestone streets of Beacon Hill? The
historic building- and Italian bakery-laden North End? Or maybe it’s the
impressive skyline visible from the waterfront, those skyscrapers
downtown. Long story short, it's a multi-faceted city, and whatever
image of Boston you harbor, chances are it's not all-encompassing.
Mashable tasked photographer (and New England native) Jesse Burke
to explore the city of Boston through new eyes, rather, his lens. His
approach? "We rarely look up and stop to watch what is happening north
of our eyeline. I took that and brought it to a city I spend a lot of
time in. When possible I tried to look down as well," Burke says. "It
was amazing to see the city I know so well in a new and interesting
way."
"Something
that makes Boston unique is the fact that it's one of the oldest cities
in the country. What that means is a constant crashing together of old
and new"
The classic old New England architecture and ideas and the streamlined modern come together

It's a beautifully complicated place once you start to notice it.
